The Night's Rebirth…An Ode to Vampires

I left my house late last night

To walk to the neighborhood park

When came upon me a shocking fright

Out of the dreadful dark

Its face was ghastly, white as paste

Fangs so long and deadly

I turned to flee, to make haste

For I knew it wasn’t friendly

It grabbed me quickly, like a snake

Claws like razor blades

And sank its teeth, the blood to take

From my flowing veins

I had no choice but to comply

My knees so weak with fear

When it was done it let me lie

But still it stayed quite near

I felt the pain all through my limbs

As I began the change

But soon was bursting with much vim

And didn’t feel so strange

My sight was heightened, bright as day

My teeth became extended

I knew he’d turned me to his way

I knew my life had ended

And suddenly I felt an urge

An overwhelming flood

A feeling I just couldn’t purge

To drink another’s blood

The creature led me home again

To join my family

And though I knew it was a sin

I drank them all with glee

With bellies full and satisfied

We dug our graves of earth

And laid ourselves like those who’ve died

To wait the night’s rebirth

LOL! I've never seen that show but I've heard enough to know I should be embarrassed! Thanks!

POaks: No! Don't be embarassed, I meant it as a good thing! I love The Situation!! I'm a reality show junkie and I love the Jersey Shore. I'm not one of the people from Jersey who gets offended by it...it's an entertaining show. You need to give it a try...it's a train wreck, but oh so fun. Fist pump!!

Maybe, one day, when I'm weak of spirit I'll check it out. :) I will admit to watching Real Housewives of NJ. It makes me miss home.

      Fist pump!!

      LOL! :)

Oh I love me some Real Housewives! Teresa is the typical Jersey girl. I love Caroline and she's a great mom. Danielle is horrible, but makes for great TV. It will stink without her, I think, now that she got fired. I watch all the house wives installments...NJ, OC, NY, GA, DC and they are coming out with Beverly Hills and Las Vegas, I believe. Give Jersey shore a try...:)

Gotta agree on all your opinions about the NJ girls. I'm sure they'll find someone else to be the antagonist but it seemed like there was plenty of drama with just the fam when they went to Italy so maybe not. I'm watching DC as well. I live in Vegas so that would be interesting. Okay, maybe for you, I'll check it out. :)

By the way, POaks, Vampire Diaries was GREAT last night!! Enter the werewolf! I've been wanting that and I'm so happy they finally did it. :) Tonight is Supernatural!! Good times!

Vampire Diaries was GREAT last night!!

Didn't watch it yet. That's my early Saturday morning fix but I'm definitely staying up to watch Supernatural! I'm hoping the werewolf makeup doesn't look too cheesy like it mostly does in movies and t.v. (Don't tell me!)

Same here. I haven't watched last week's episode yet either though so I get a double header tomorrow morning. Can't wait!! Also VERY excited to see Supernatural tomorrow morning as well. THE BOYS ARE BACK!!!!!

"THE BOYS ARE BACK!!!!!" They sure are! I loved the episode. *Don't know if anyone will know this, but there was a new character (briefly) on last night's Supernatural (one of Sam and Dean's "cousins") and his name is Corin Nemec. He used to be in a popular show in the early 90's called Parker Lewis Can't Lose and I used to have the biggest crush on him (and Corey Haim :( ) He's much older now, but so are we all and it was neat to see him on Supernatural. Back in his day, he was an idol who girls got crushes on, so it was interesting to see him on Supernatural with the new crop of hearthrobs.

Boy oh boy are they! I only watched 1/2 an hour of it last night because I started getting very sleepy (medication) so I'll watch the rest later today but what I saw I loved! I do remember Corin Nemec. As a matter of fact when I saw his name I said to myself, "Self, his name sounds familiar." I also used to watch Parker Lewis Can't Lose. No crush here but I'm a little older than you so that makes sense.

POaks: I'm sorry...I didn't think about if anyone was taping the show and saving it... Sorry. :( Hope I didn't spoil the werewolf situation on Vampire Diaries, although they've been leading up to it, so I don't think it would be a big shock. Regardless, hope I didn't spoil the surprise for you! :)

No sweat girl. I saw it coming like you said plus I've read the book series so no surprise here at all. Watched the episode this morning and it was great! Caroline is in trouble now! I'm so happy they used a real wolf! I can't stand cheesy werewolf costumes/makeup.

Man, are you my long lost twin, or what?? I felt the exact same way! Love when they use a real/modified wolf, once in awhile, and give the makeup and complete CGI a break! My favorite part was when Stefan was looking through the window of the back of the truck and the wolf eyes were staring back at him and the wolf leapt through the glass! Loved it. Oh, and the hunky guy in chains wasn't too bad either! Am I right, or am I right? ;)

There is NOTHING like a hunky guy in chains my friend! Right where they belong. Yummy. Seriously though, how many hot guys can they put on one show? :)

Hundreds more!!! : ) You don't watch Dexter, huh? Saw the series premier last night... WICKED AWESOME!! You need to come over and watch it with me or something cause you're totally missing out on this one! Like all those years I was missing out on Jack. So happy I still have season 8 to watch, though. AND the movie!!!
